Shackles or leafs

Should i get the shackles or the springs for my rear suspension?

Leafs are typically more recommended. I believe the longer the shackle, the more strain on the leaf packs
But there are plenty of people that have either

for your first gen that likely has the weak OEM springs, go with a heavy duty aftermarket spring pack like OME or Alcan.

Now im trying to decide between the fox coil overs or the toytec ones. I really dont wanna pay 1200 for a set of coil overs but their suposed to be real good... I dont know what to do

 

Fox's are the shit. Check out some classifieds like DezerRangers or Race-Dezert. You'll be amazed some of the deals you can find.

As far as the rear I vote leafs. If you can do leafs and a longer shackle down the road you'd gain up and down travel. Do you ever tow a load?

Nice well I'd get some leafs and throw a longer shack on there with a 10 or 12 inch shock. It'll ride awesome and you'll get wayy more travel. You can find some used fox king or icons on the classifieds, they're all rebuildable.
