Bilsteen 5100 vs. Pro Comp lift kit

Ok, i'm new to this.

I was looking for a truck to buy and bumped into a 06 TRD off road with a 6in "Pro Comp" lift kit installed by dealer.

I was reading through this suspension forums and most of you are talking about the Bilsteen 5100 shocks lift. It generally cost roughly $500 installed.

Question is, How much do you think it cost for this "Pro Comp" lift kit at the dealer installed?
Reason asking is not sure if i should pay the difference for truck with lift, or buy a Taco without a lift and do it myself for a merely $500 bucks!

It's an 06 trd off road taco , 29K miles, with 6in Pro Comp (installed by dealer) asking for $21K. Think it's worth takin a look at?

 

the 6" procomp kit is 1400 for stage 1 and 2400 for stage 2 thats just for the kit. the 5100's only give u up to 2.75" of lift. its not really a lift just a leveling tool.

 

Do you know what i should check for to see if it's a stage 1 or 2?

check to see what the shocks look like. this is what the stage two looks like, the stage one does not have the big boy shocks seen on the right

5100's only give 2.5" of lift yeah i would check which stage you have and go from there.

 

i wouuld take a look at it, the stage 1 lift has a 6" spacer on top of the factory coilover the stage 2 kit has longer procomp coilovers.

 

Went to go take a look at the truck last night and yall wont' believe this. It was a FAKE TRD. Yeap, it was a regular pre-runner with a TRD OFF ROAD sticker on it. What a scam, like i don't know the difference between a TRD and non-TRD besides the sticker.

The man seems to be very nice. He said he bought it 4 months ago and need a bigger truck to pull his new RV. Either he honestly doesn't know it's not a TRD or he's a really good salesman.

 

lol thats pretty funny "poser" i have a trd sticker on mine but mine says trd all terrain im honest i dont have a trd offroad package
