Single cab 4cyl lifts

Hey guys, i am lookin into buying a gen 1 single cab tacoma. im really just wanting something to hunt out of. What are my best options to get 35" tires on one of these? A lot of the 5 and 6 inch lift kits i have seen say they wont work with 4cyl engines. any suggestions would help. Thanks

 

they will work with 4 cylinders? you will just need to re gear with 35s..

 

hmm. well that sounds good. ill have to go back and look. And yea i was plannin on re gearing with 35's. any suggestions on the ratio to get back to close stock performance.

You could get a lot better 3" kit for the price of a 6" drop-bracket setup.

 

i have an 08 double cab with a three inch kit and love it. im guessing 33's would be a max on a three inch lift. I guess i could do a 3"body and 3" susp to fit 35's alot cheaper.

 

Yeah, with all due respect, are you really sure you want to run 35" tires? That's a lot of tire to be pushing around with a four banger (even regeared) and you're gonna rub like a mofo unless you run a 6" drop-bracket lift.

For your stated purpose of hunting a 3" lift with 33" tires makes a pretty capable truck on a short wheelbase std cab.

 

yea i mainly want the truck to hunt out of but honestly i have always wanted a single cab tacoma with 35's i just think it looks awesome. just trying to look at all my options.
