if anyone can tell me pros n cons of these two, it would be a great help to me in deciding for my 2012.

going to run 265/70/17 with it and dont want to do any trimming.

    thanks in advance!

Dont need a lift for that size of tire. That is the size of tire I am running on my sport.

i was leaning towards the 5100's, any truth to the notion that they will settle a bit set at 2.5?
a buddy of mine told me they will end up at approximately 2"

With that much preload on the spring, I don't see how it could settle.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
A ton of members are rocking them. In the end it all boils down to what you're using this stuff for. I waited till I had the money and went Fox all around because I want to go on trails. That's why they say do it right the 1st time. Better to wait and get what you want rather than spend some money and change it again in 6 months.

Well we all know why you could...Cause it was still a Tacoma :p Bilsteins should be fine for you though.

Kauai is pretty awesome! Love going back home when I just need to relax. My ticket money has been going to the truck so it might be a bit till I get to head home again. I'd say it was a good trade off though. Hawaii has always been loaded with toyotas. Though most of the lifted trucks remind everyone of someone trying to mud bog. Kauai actually had a spot in Toyota owners mag a couple of months back. Glad to see we get some type of recognition though.

    Icon/All Pro.....chopped for 35's
Spindles will prob look goofy with 265's don't you think? You could def run 285's with minimal trimming on 3.5-4" spindle lift! I'd do the spindles and 5100's set at 0" up font. Allpro 3" in the rear with the long 5100's from DSM and the truck will look badass! Will ride similar to stock but smoother and able to handle more offroad!

Edit - just saw OP is 4x.....scratch that!

Def 5100's over pro comp, but you'll want new coils too!

It's already been brought up but, you don't need a lift to fit 265/70-17's.

I know, fink, but I do want to get rid of the rake. Plus I'm still debating on the 265 part. May go up to 285? Not sure yet...taking my time with it.

    Understandable.

If you just want to get rid of the rake and wait on the rest, just get the front 5100's and set them to 1.75 and you'll be set.

I was thinking, if i go 285 I might have to set it @ 2.5...just in case.

You'll also need to lift the back.

Just to give you an idea, here is my 2007 with no lift and 265/70-17 MTZ's. I personally never felt the need for a lift.

Fink, did your intake help much with torque, h.p., or mpg? there is an AFE cai available for my 12, but heard it doesn't do much?
