shock replacement

Should I or could i replace factory shocks with the billies I orderd and set them at 1.75 by myself and put them on truck with out a hard time or is it not worth it. Should I just get a shop to do it?

 

If you have a second vehicle or a friend to drive you, take the front coils and old struts off yourself, then take them to a shop with a coil spring compressor. They will probably charge only $10-20 for them to compress and install your new struts into the front coils. You need to have both left and right sides lifted in order to replace the coils back on your truck.

Unless you have a means to SAFELY compress the coils yourself, you should not try it at home. There are several write ups for removing and installing shocks/struts here.

 

Free rental at autozone for the tool. Possibly other auto shops as well.

 

thanks guys I will probly take them out myself then to a shop to be put together. So after that I just have to have the front end on jacks to put them back in. Oh and to have at 1in and 3/4 what setting on the shock is that?
