    Hi All,

2006 Tacoma, V6, rear wheel drive.

Within last week, a hard shake during acceleration developed. Wasn't towing or carrying a heavy load. Dealership says we need new rear leaf springs and rear shocks. Total = $2000 ($1600 parts, $400 labor).

I've seen a lot of threads regarding the rear leaf springs / rear shocks causing a rough ride and the TSB - but doesn't sound like it causes a violent shaking during acceleration.

Something to keep in mind - dealer first thought it was a bad engine mount. After replacement, turned out not to be the issue. The rear springs/shocks is also a 'guess' to what the problem is.

Any thoughts? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to suspension - so any advice is appreciated. Wanted to get some expert opinion before dropping that kind of money into the truck.....

    Thanks!
