TRD Bilstein Shocks

I am looking at buying a set of TRD Bilstein Shocks, the shocks I am looking at are from a 2012 TRD Sport, is there a difference between the TRD Sport Bilsteins and the TRD Off Road Bilsteins?

I have an almost brand new set of shocks for sale if you are interested. They only have 340 miles on them. I am out of town right now but I will be back in town by about 8pm tomorrow night. I am looking for $150 plus shipping.

So lightly used stock TRD shocks go for approximately $150 whereas the 's cost approximately $400.

I am curious what the advantages are given the substantial cost difference. I am looking to add slightly to the stock ride of the Sr5 and I thought that swapping in the TRD Bilstein's for $150 might be a decent affordable route. Should I save the money and put it towards a later upgrade? I really would not intend to lift the truck more than 2" in the future.

 

i'm looking into getting the trd bilsteins myself. not looking into getting a lift, so i cant justify $350 to just paying around $125 for the trd's

 

Ron you still fall under the "i can get them free with the TSB"....correct? how many leafs you have in the rear leaf pack? 3, if so then go into a dealer and say you have trouble handling loads in the bed of the truck and they will do everything for free

AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED,THE STOCK BILSTEINS THAT CAME ON THE TACOMA TRD OFF ROAD PACKAGE ARE AS CLOSE TO BRAND NEW AS YOUR GOING TO GET,THE ODOMETER HAD 340 MILES ON IT WHEN THE SHOCKS WERE REPLACED WITH THE 5100S AND AN ADD A LEAF IN THE REAR,THESE SHOCKS RIDE NICER ON THE HIGHWAY THEN THE 5100S DO IMO,JUST GOT BACK FROM WYOMING 2 NITES AGO,YOU FELT EVERY EXPANSION JOINT ON THE ROAD WITH THESE 5100S,NOT BAD,BUT DEFINATELY FIRMER THEN THE TRD BILSTEINS.JUST WANTED TO CLARIFY THESE SHOCKS ARE AS CLOSE TO BRAND NEW AS YOU WILL GET. ALSO HAVE THE STOCK WHEELS AND TIRES FOR SALE,WITH THE SAME MILEAGE ON THEM,PERFECT CONDITION.

 

So you're saying the stock TRD Bilsteins ride better than the 5100's in your opinion?

i have the trd off road bilstein shocks and they work great for me. i do light wheeling at best mainly on the beach. i think it depends on what you plan on using your truck for.
