Not sure to go with 885's or 886's???

    I have an Avid front bushbar and a pretty heavy duty skid plate(100lbs) that I'm going to be putting on my truck when I put my lift on. Should I get 885's or 886??

    I'd do 885's if I were you. 886's with that weight will add a lot of lift and give you some interesting CV angles.

    885's and 886's give the same lift height. The 886's have a heavier spring rate, due to the thicker coils themselves. I have heard mixed opinions on these, and have yet to install my 885's, so I wouldnt be much help for the time being.

    3 to 3 1/2 inches. I already have the Dakars and I'm going to also add the XL leaf with the Dakars.

    I like my 886's check out my truck in the link in my sig. My cv angles are ok. plus I haven't added my steel bumper or skid plates yet.

    3" OME lift 885s & Dakars riding on 33" KM2s
    You probably don't want to go over 3" in the front. Do you really need the XL with the Dakars? Check out this 1st Gen OME - take out the add a leaf?
    I got my lift used (8 months) from a local TWer that had a TRD AC. He had 885s & Dakars until he got a Relentless bumper and winch (also had BudBuilt skids & sliders). When he switched to 886s he "it felt like I was being assaulted, so I went back to the 885s and added a 1/4" spacer".
    I would recommend the 885s with 1/4" spacer and no XL.

    Ok.. so 885's in the front it is. Anyone know of any pics of a second Gen with Dakars with the XL leaf added???

    $81 d29xl leaf spring
    d29xl adds 5/8" to the rear lift .

    figure I would ask this here before starting yet another 885 vs 886 thread. I have a DC SB and am about to jump on the OME 3" kit.

    I was planning to go with 885 springs, but does running a SC (as I am) add enough weight to require 886s? I'm looking for a full 3" of lift? I'd think not at all, as a full plate bumper is certainly more metal, but just wanted to make sure..

    Hmm, even with the top plate spacers? you're probably right.

    I'll call Toytec and see if they have an opinion. I really want the full 3, but a big part of the reason I'm getting the kit is for ride quality, so wouldn't want to compromise that by going with 886s. finding a weight for the whole SC setup would be ideal - if it's close to w winch, or winch/bumper then it might work out, but I can't imagine is that heavy

    You'll get 2 1/2" without the spacers , 1/4" spacer will add 1/2"
