Lift suggestions for G2 taco — DC/LB 4X4

I need some help on selecting a lift for my new rig. It's a 2013 Tacoma double cab long bed 4X4.

A TW member/friend gave me a set of 285/70/17 BFG's mounted on FJC black steel rims (major score). To use these rims I will need a 3" lift (according to the 9000+ threads I have read on TW). Looking for a mid-priced lift solution and have these questions for other members.

Here are my questions:
1. Can I mix the Toytec 3" Most Popular lift (apprx. $250) with a set of 4 5100 Billies (apprx. $300.00) to achieve a 3" lift?
2. If so, What setting do I use on the front shocks (i.e., 0, .85,...)?, and
3. Will I need additional parts (i.e., spacers, etc)?

This would be a 3" lift for apprx. $350. To good to be true?

From what I have read, once you get to the magic 3" , You should get a set on UCA`s to help keep alignment true.

 

OME 885's with 1/4" top plate spacers and 5100's @0 , 1.5" AAL , rear 5100's

 

Toytec's 3 inch lift does use billies. You can set then to 2.5 inches with stock coils, or set then to .85 with eibach coils, or another option is get old man emu 885s with the billies set to 0. For a full 3" you will need 1/4" top plate spacers. After market UCAs are recomended if you go with 3" of lift. Light racing UCAs are about $375. For a better quality lift you should get coils as well as shocks, then plus new rear shocks and UCAs you are over $1000. So ya $300 is to good to be true unless you are getting blocks and spacers which are not recommended.

 

I meant to write $550... to good to be true. For clarification, would I need two 1/4" top spacers or just one for the driver's side? Here's my plan (all suggestions welcomed). I'll be mixing 5100 Billies (at .85) with OME 885's + 1/4" top spacers + Light Racing UCA's for the front. For the rear 1–1/2" Lift rear add-a-leaf with 5100 Billies.

My mathification:
1. Toytec: 1–1/2" Lift rear add-a-leaf — $84.99 (set)
2. Wheeler Offroad: OME 885 coils — $160.00 (set)
3. Toytec: ¼” Spacers — 2 X $22.99
4. Downsouth Motorsports: 5100 Bilsteins (front and rear) — $329.00

That puts me right at $500. + Light Racing UCA's at $300 I'm under a grand. Am I leaving anything out?

 

About the top plate spacers, with aftermarket coils the truck will lean towards the drivers side because the drivers side is heavier-taco lean. So you either want 1/4 on the drivers side only, or 1/4 on passanger and 1/2 on driver side. The 885s alone should get you 2.5 inches of lift, leave the billys set at 0 with 885s. If you get 1/2" top plate spacers you will need longer studs for the top plate, or else there wont be enough threads left to secure the coilover assembly to the shock tower. Your other option is go with OME nitrochargers instead of billys, this way you can use the OME trim packer, which is a quarter inch spacer that goes below the coil seat on the drivers side, this will help get rid of taco lean and only works with OME shocks. That way you can get 1/4 top plate spacers for each side. I think you will need longer u-bolts and centering pins for the leafs, not sure about this but i belive toytec includes that in a package, you may also want shims in case you develope driveshaft vibrations. Best price i have seen for LR UCAs is 375 shipped from headstrong offroad

Edit: also remember to keep shipping costs in mind, it might not make sense to purchase from 3 different vendors even if those are the cheapest prices because shipping costs will add up. DSM has free shipping to the lower 48

 

heres the lift im thinking about getting. this is a 3 in lift right? if i put this lift on will i be siting level?
