Replacing My Spacers Need Advice

So I have a 4 door 2012 trd offroad tacoma. A few months ago I got a 3" Rough Country lift kit (spacers, blocks, longer rear shocks). It was perfect to get me started, but im ready for an upgrade.

Replacement Lift:

• 4x Bilstein 5100's
• OME 885x Coils
• Wheelers 1.5" AAL

How much lift will the 5100's and OME (885) coils get me? With that setup will my truck be level or close to it? I dont mind a little rake or bro lean.

ALSO will my beloved trail grappers still fit under the NEW planned lift?
I have 285/70/16 Nitto Trail Grapplers on right now. NOT 285/75/16, they are slightly shorter but almost just as wide.

Sounds like what I started with except I went with the Tuff Country 3" spacer lift. Yesterday I installed the Camburg UCA's and coil overs. Today I had my truck realigned, and I tell you it is 100% ride improvement. The coil overs are adjustable from 2"-3.5" so when I put on my plate bumper all I need to do is crank them up a bit to compensate. I ordered mine with a heaver spring as well. For now Ill run the rear as is, but figured Id spend the money this time and do it like I wish id done it the first time. I know I didnt answer your question, but thought maybe an adjustable coil over might be easier to level out your truck.

 

The 5100 adjustables have 4 settings from 0-3.25 I think. I have a set if your interested. Bought on 4wparts with the no questions asked lifetime warranty (cost extra $30). I'd let em go for $220 plus shipping. I could even send em back under warranty so you could get brand new ones in the box if your interested. Otherwise, I'd say fox coil overs for around 750-800 a set.

 

About 2 1/2in is what you can get out of front, w/ 5100 set .85. Anymore than that and the ride will be shit. Probaly be shit anyhow. The ome springs are not designed around 5100's. id look at eibach if it was me but thats a heavier spring.

 

x2 on this The more you preload a coilover shock the stiffer the ride will be. You can run the 885's w the 5100's but I wouldn't preload them. I would just put the top plate spacer on them. The ebiach's are also good but are a lil bit heavier of a spring and on these you'll get 1.6 lift and set billys @ .85 you'll get your 2.5 of lift. If you wanting to shell out the extra on coilovers id go with the icons. Would also recomend replacing your uca's

I was running them for close to a year and they were an awesome upgrade from stock, but I live close to moab and recently forked over $1200 for some ICON coil overs. You just have to decide how much you want to invest I guess, and what you are going to use your truck for. If you only do mild off roading, I dont see why you would have to spend thousands of dollars on your suspension when a few hundred would be practical, unless you have benjamins falling out your ass. Its all what you plan on doing with it. Hope that helps man.

 

hey op, i suggest the extra few bucks to run ome struts with the ome springs. get the lean spacer pre-installed in the coil over assembly with you 885x springs. don't bother with the rear 5100's unless they are the extended type, might as well keep what you have back there for shocks now if they are longer then stock which is approx 22.5 extended length, ome rear shocks are 23.9 extended, i run sky jackers that are 24.75 extended, regret not getting the longer procomps at 25.75... you can also run a top plate spacer that gives the extra height up front to get the full 3 inches, this option will ride better and give you a bit more available down travel for the ride height. i run full ome with small top plate spacer up front with the exception of the sky jacker shocks (cheaper & longer & ride fine with the dakars)

Hes running stock OME coil overs with a spacer and is trying to get rid of it (the title).

 

No, he running a rough country spacer lift and wanting to switch to a suspension lift w/coilovers and need to know if he can keep the height the same as right now so he doesnt have to switch to smaller tires. I think he was saying if need be he could add the trim packer to the assymbly to get a little extra height.

 

The Camburg 2.5 for a FJ is what I bought. They are just a little longer, and have a little heavier spring. I have them set at 3" which was only 1.5cm cranked down

 

Got my new ICON coilovers installed today! Runs so quiet and smooth it get a chubby when I hit a pot hole and don't feel it! Not sure if it was worth the $1200 I spend on them yet.. but I had a set up like you with spacers, then the billy 5100 adjustables, and not coil overs. There is definitely a performance and ride quality gap between each of the steps in upgrading your suspension. That being said, I payed like $50 for the spacer, then $280 when I went with the bilsteins, and now $1200 for the ICON coil overs.
