I was going to install my ReadyLift coil spacers this weekend when my s.o. said the truck was already too high. Anybody lower the rear end to match the front??
I searched this forum and did not find. Help and advice would be appreciated.
Note: I need to keep stiff Bilsteins for hauling heavy stuff once a month @ 700 pounds.

i'm sure that a simple lowering block would work.

How high is too high? I think it would be easier to lift the front than it is to drop the rear.

i towed a 19' bass boat w/ my lowered 4cyl s-10...so its all possible. and raising the front isnt gonna get what he needs, b/c then the doors will be even highter than they already are. if u got like a 2" lowering block, it'd work. then like the lifting, u'd have to worry about axle wrap and parts out of alignment.

Interesting... Though I don't want to lose the ability to jump over stuff. (I hope LEO isn't reading this). I guess that I am going to try and go with a 1" block for now. So I can easily remove if I need factory work done. Does anybody recommend where I can get one of these lowering blocks?

Please let me know if you find a lowering kit for a double cab pre-runner. I've always had more desire to lower trucks rather than raise/lift them. I am having trouble finding anything thing for the tacoma, but there is already a ton of kits for the new Tundra.

ummm a block is only going to lift the rear on a truck with the spring over axle configuration...

hmmm thought they were all over axle except the non pre-runner 2x4's if they are spring under I'll feel like a jacka$$ for sticking my first gen nose in a 2nd gen thread lol

actually, u may be right about the springs over the axle...i'm at work and cant go look. but if the blocks wouldnt work, why would coast2coast say to use a block for the rear?

1st gen tacoma the spring is over so a block wouldnt work it would lift it dont know about the 2nd gen tacos if the spring is over the only way i know is a flip kit like you have to do to a ford ranger to lower it

well as I stated i dont know diddly about 2nd gens I was just presuming them to be same setup as 1st gens... where the 4x4's and pre-runners are over axle and the 2wd mini truck is under axle.. thats where the height difference comes from since they all use the same springs

It is the same, spring over axle. Blocks will only raise it.

I, too, am looking for a semi-cheap way to lower the rear. I like the front height where it is but if I can't find a solution I like, I'm going with Bilstein 5100's in the front to even it out.

that would make since ... the 1st gen 2wd five lugs were under axle... only way i would think to lower the X that far

I just got a block kit from EBAY, it should arrive in a week. I just need to lower the rear about 1 inch or maybe an 1.5 inches. I bought some used 18x9 Moto Metal wheels and looking to put some 285/60/18 Toyo tires ASAP.
I am selling my READYLIFT coil spacers NIB where should I post them for sale?
