Billy 5100 and Toytec Rear AAL

I was thinking of getting the Billy 5100s set at 2.5" with the Toytec Rear AAL. Will the truck sit pretty level after that or would it be front end high? I had the rear TSB done, so would I need to get the AAL that is specifically for the TSB. I'm hoping my local 4wheelparts store will install that AAL. If not, does anyone know who could (meineke?). thanks.

 

Lets see:

Everything I've ever heard about 4WP was bad- Don't go there. If you have any mechanical inclination an AAL is pretty simple to install. Otherwise- look for an offroad parts/service store- Check out local offroad forums for your area- try to bribe another Texas member from here with beer and stuff.

You don't NEED that AAL- but you'll have to modify the Pre-TSB AAL if you get it- So I'd recommend getting the TSB AAL and making it easy on yourself. I can't tell you it will or won't sit level because every truck seems to respond a little bit differently-It'll probably be pretty close, but it may settle a bit.

 

yep thats what i have. I didn't have the aal at first and the truck sat chin up with the aal sits perfect

 

I have the Billys and TSB+AAL in the rear, sits perfect, I love it!

Can anyone in Austin recommend a good store for me? My neighbor also said that 4wp wasn't great and he had heard some bad stuff about them.

Also, rippin101, are your billys set to 2.5?

 

Okay, I contacted a local shop:
atomic4x4.com and was quoted 621 for the following:

Bilstein 5100--173
Toytec AAL for TSB - 80
shipping costs of--48
labor-320

Does that sound reasonable? I know I can get the 5100s from DSM from 173 shipped and I'm unsure how much shipping it would be for the AAL.

Also, I was recommended on getting the billys for the rear as they are supposedly not long enough and I will eventually get "shock fade". Does anyone know if that's true? I had the TSB done 2 months ago and got new springs, shock, and leaf pack for a non-TRD truck.

 

Thanks Chris! Getting new rear shocks though is not a necessity is it? 620 for all of that was my "budget", but I realize I may have to spend more for a good, quality ride.
