newbie suspension?

Going offroading soon but what's a good cheap 3in lift setup? i want to lift my truck and also be able to drive it daily? any good suggestion or route i should take?

Not if you have a 2nd gen. 1st gen, it is necessary.

 

Have anyone heard of ROUGH COUNTRY? i saw a 3in lift kit that comes with everything for a pretty decent price im assuming but can you guys give me some feedback about this brand?

 

i used a rough country lift on my jeep no probs with it i have a pro comp lift found it ebay ans love it

 

i was in the same position as you about a year ago, i wanted some sort of lift to off road but i didn't have that much money, so i went through toytec, got the ome "old man emu" set up for my truck, since i have dbl cab long bed, i went with the "886 heavy duty" coils instead of the recommended 885 coils, like i said, i wanted to off road. I then proceeded to spend a bit more money to get "long travel" ome shocks for the rear cause i didn't want the rear to be lacking. I didn't need new control arms or anything of that sort and i was able to slap some 33 bfg all terrains on there on stock 17 inch. rims, yes theres some tire rub but you can get around it, it only rubs when you have the wheel cranked all the way...with this set up over the past year i've been more than happy with my suspension. you'll be suprised how much it can handle, i've had some serious oh shit moment too, like hitting a wash at 50 that came out of nowhere..had to check the truck after that one but no bent frame, leaky shocks or anything so far after a steady year of off roading and it wasn't nearly as expensive as a pro-comp or fabtech lift.
