They should be stronger, the 2nd gen weights 1500# + more. There are plenty of people that wheel with 35" tires and one that wheels with 37" tires and know how to control their wheel spin so they don't break. It is about wheel spin, period.

My taco weighs in at 5935 with all the armor. It's a heavy bitch. And wheelspin? These guys broke them on trails with no spin and wheels straight.

What is this video showing??? Look like a mall parking lot filled with snow

I noticed it too but i'm not so sure. I think its just because the 44's bring that frame off the ground so much.

Im guessing the body lift was used to allow plenty of space for the large tires to bounce up and down. The big light tires are also essential to be able to float on top of the snow.

Yeah, they made a whole new bed and fenders/hood so really only the cab is on the body lift.

a body lift leaves the frame motor and trans closer to the ground giving u the ability to get bigger tires on while keeping a lower center of gravity

Arctic Trucks have always used body lifts on the trucks they build. It's a necessity in order to fit the tires they need to run. But they also reinforce the mounts and are using a little more than some taller poly bushings and longer bolts.

You have to remember that these are very specialized trucks built for a specific purpose and environment. The travel they typically do with the artic trucks has MUCH less frame flex than the typical trail running we do here in the states. So while the body lift may still not be ideal it is less of an issue for them.

I want that truck. I wonder if I could get one of the many fabricators on here to do a similar rear bumper/bed setup...

then we can make our own meet at the south pole!
