A little back story...I'm active duty Air Force, bought the truck as a daily driver/play truck in 2009 while we lived in Vegas and intended to slow build it and maybe someday fully cage it post retirement to make a run at racing. Got assigned to the Pentagon in fall 2010. Decided to keep the truck in Vegas with a friend rather than bring it to DC.
I was going to slowly funnel him money to my partner to stick to the 5 year plan but in Spring 2011 got tagged with a deployment that was a solid money maker so we decided to roll that money in to making a faster push to build the truck to be race ready.
Did all of that and took about a year and a half and we brought it out for the first time in January. My wife and I flew out from DC and had a great weekend. Intended to push for 4-5 races this year. Unfortunately on the way out to Vegas for our first race I got another assignment notification and got moved to London two months ago. So after two years of work it kind of shelved our race team after one race.
Anyway, long story...but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and try to come back for one more race this year and at least one big race next year. Crazy to spend a fortune to leave Europe to go drive a truck around the desert but it is what it is.
Tons of build picks and progress on our Facebook page that started when we first decided to move forward with the full race build:
