our IAT and MAF sensor are the same, if you pull it you'll see the two right next to each other

so for the hot climates it would be theoretically beneficial to do this.

Nope. The air temp isnt affected by this. Not to any degree.

2, right next to each other does not equal same. They might share same location but have seperate functions or there would be 1 MAFT.

It does flow coolant around the whole assembly.

Temperature has a good part in the equation of air flow. So the IAT and MAF work side by side generating a MAF reading. They are, both on the same assembly. But we refer to it as the MAF sensor because its general purpose is to take air flow readings. Temperature is a part of air readings.

So if i pass air, through a hot pipe that's about 4 inches long, air temp won't be affected? Explain....

it would increase it to a degree (.00056763 of a degree). the amount that the air temp would increase over this 4" tube would be negligable. like a fraction of a percent. so to say it wont increase at all is a bit off but the amount that it would increase most likely wouldnt enough to even read without the use of decimal places to show it.

I refer to it as 2 seperate readings from 2 seperate sensors to complete the equation. Neither of them perform both functions regardless of whether they are in the same hole or located seperately.

alrighty, I have a temp gun at work. I should be able to tonight. it'll only be outside of tubing, and it's -18C here currently. But I should still be able to read a difference. Also i'll shoot the TB while I'm at it

You should use an actual sensor designed for air temp.
