Brakes.....

Is it hard to change your drum breaks?? Is there a DIY on it? Should the drum breaks be switched out at the same time as you change out your front breaks?? Some insight or info would be appreciated!!

 

drum brakes can be a pain in the ass, but as long as you pay attention, they arent that bad. they front brakes will gwet changed more than the rears, since the rears are only bout 20% of your stopping power.............but you do need to clean/adjust them every once in a while. i'll clean and adjust mine every 15k miles or so. gives a lil better pedal feel. not too sure of any write ups tho.

 

I recently changed my drum brakes. It wasn't too hard. The hardest part is stretching the springs to fit onto the shoes. Make sure you do 1 side at a time, so you can check to be certain everything is in the correct place.

The drum brakes on my truck lasted 200,000 miles, so they don't need to be replaced very often
