    I think this is the ball joint and I just started to notice oil on my spring from it and I reached around and the rubber is split on the backside. Please help:eek:

    It's not good, that's certain. They're cheap enough to replace.. just not fun to do without the right tools or a lot of beer... or both.

    getting there....
    ball joint needs replaced. no big deal man....just rent a ball joint press and buy a new ball joint from rockauto.com. not too bad to change. honestly..look at the othwer side...if the boot is close to splitting...i'd replace it too.

    see how much oem ones are.........also, check rockauto.com. most times...they are cheaper there than anywhere else.
