I just bought a 2006 Tacoma and noticed today (the first day since I bought it hot enough to run the A/C) that the A/C seems to be cycling from Super Cold Air, to Medium Cold Air, back to Super Cold Air. My guess is that I am low on Refrigerant. Which I find strange for such a new truck, but it's under warranty so I am going to take it back to the dealer and find out what is happening.

My Question is, Is this normal? Do the new Toyotas cycle the A/C to reach an optimal temperature and then turn off and then back on? My guess is no, but I thought I'd check with the experts.

    Thanks!

Some systems cycle the compressor to prevent evaporator freeze up but I don't know if that's the case with Toyota's approach.

Thanks All! I checked with my uncle who also has a 2006 double cab, and his does it too. I guess I am being a little hypersensitve after buying my truck. I just want it to be too perfect I guess :)
