Took my new Tacoma to the dealer for it's 1st scheduled maint. I get alittle nervous with some of these guys back there working on my truck. I know there are great techs...and some ain't worth a...This guy put a scratch on top of the chrome plated grill. ...where he leaned over to the engine compartment..It's a scratch I can live with...no big deal..but it still pisses me off. Little grease smears on top of the doors....just not prime #1 satisfaction.
So guys....decided to do the maint work on my truck myself.
    Oil Change.....good
    Fluid levels....good
Grease/lub????.....where are all the grease fitting...just the u-joints.
Also...which type of grease gun out there that makes the job easier. I had the old pump type and hated it.....
    Thanks for the help

Yeah do the work yourself. I did the 30K routine maintenance myself and it wasnt bad at all. I just spread the work out over a few days cause I was to busy to try and do it all in one day. I bought a typical grease gun but with a rubber flex tube. Your not going to be able to grease all the zerks with a solid tipped gun.

    Sure did OffroadToy :)

Yeah...I used to change oil and grease my vehicles myself. Got lazy and the hassle of carting off the oil for recycle and such....but need the piece of mind that the work is done and done right...yea....better get back into it myself :D

    Thanks guys..........

Yeah no problem and you should be able to get all the info if you need help off of TW. I know chris4x4 has some videos and threads on how to maintenance certain stuff on the 30K list of things to do.

    .

I do my own service too ... IMO, just try to keep your receipts and make a "service log".

FWIW ... My wife has her car serviced (2009 & now 2010 Honda Fit) and her Honda dealer (Gwinnett Honda) is fantastic so far.

FYI ... everytime we take her car in the Honda service bay ... I write on service work order ... "NO body, wheel or interior damage" ... and the service writer checks it and watches the car a bit closer too. ... :D
