What are these loose wires??

These two wires were just out there, exposed when I got the truck. I put the splices on the ends so that they couldn't touch anything. The red/black is hot when the ignition is on, the brown is grounded. They come out of the wiring harness right next to the MAF sensor.

I thought that maybe this truck had a 5 pin MAF sensor on it, and perhaps someone did a shitty transition to a 3 pin, but the colors on the 2 loose wires don't match the colors in the wiring diagram for a 5 pin sensor. Any ideas what these are? I am still having bad hesitation problems.

Looks like someone may have put one of those "free 25 HP" chips in there and removed it before he sold it. Do they lead anywhere?

Have you traced them back to anything? Or looked around to see if they were cut off anything factory?
