    Hello,

Does anyone have a loud clunking noise when the transfer case is disengaged from 4WD back to 2WD? It doesn't sound right to me. I have a 07 Tacoma with automatic transmissionand just under 3K miles.

    Thanks,
    Dukestacoma

Mine does that if I don't press in the clutch before shifting out of 4wd. It doesn't sound like gear grinding so I don't worry about it.

Thanks for the replies...I found if I put it into neutral first the clunk is not noticeable.
