I'm dealing with a huge issue with Circuit City & alarms for my truck. It's a great long story that I will only share should this thread have any interest.

    Basic question:

    1) Anyone ever have any issues with non-factory (more specifically Python brand) alarms in second generation Tacoma's? Anything from say issues with the window & door lock functions to... oh I don't know... freezing the breaking system to the point the breaks completely lock up?

Two models now, both models I was told (before installation) work with my year & model truck but both had very serious issues once installed. It's clearly installation stupidity even from my lack of knowledge with these (brand new alarms, brand new truck) but CC is being :frusty: & won't pay for the two tows, toyota dealership check or refund my alarm.

I might write out more of the story tomorrow anyway just to see all of your expert-wiring-opinions.

There's a fair amount to the story, but seems we might end up in small claims after all so I won't mention it here.

I really just wanted to know if anyone else had issues with Python Alarms, the rest is my problem. *sigh*

    Thanks.

No a python - but I had an aftermarket alarm in the past. Although it did work for several years, it was flakey and did all kinds of weird shit.

I'll never go aftermarket alarms ever again. All factory or non-at all.

Most definately PUSH the issue and get back what is owed you.... Don't back-down. Be a pain in their ass until you're fully satisfied.

    Good Luck!

They are just as big a pain in the rear, but you're right on, I'm not going away. Thank you, Janster.

Circuit city is awful. I had to stop buying from them years ago, horrible sales reps with near zero product knowledge. Its not surprising they folded up a bunch of shops last year

I hate to hear about the problem you're having bud! Unfortunately you will probably have to 'get in line.'

Circuit City is soon to be no more. They are are closing all stores, laying off their 34,000 or so employees, and liquidating all of their stock, as we speak, in an attempt to pay off debts to their creditors.

looks like BestBuy might have a bit of a monopoly now.
