    I'm looking at a 2006 V6 taco 86,000 miles what is the life expectancy of the engine? This will be my sons first truck.....

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Its designed to go 250k miles before needing any major work done. That being said, it comes down to how well the basic maint. is performed, how often, etc.

    Tow package, XM Satellite radio, K & N Air filter, & Channel Vent Visors
    I was going to say a very long time. I have 168,500 on my 05. But tacobell has shown one with more miles.

    Only thing I have replaced is the factory battery & a Universal joint. Of course all the normal maintenance.

    With proper maintenance....it'll probably last LONGER than the truck body. Toyotas are known for rusting out from under the engine!
