why my aux/cig outlet does not work

Ok, i looked at the fuses and nothing is blown. why can
i not see anything on getting my outlets to work? i have a
basic tacoma, old school roll up windows and door locks so,
i wonder if they left something off. i noticed that the
100amp a/c fuse was not there in the engine compartment.

i do not want to sound dumb but DANG! i have lifted my
truck and done other things. i do not want to dismantle the
dash. am i missing some.

There's also an accessory socket relay in that circuit. If the 15A PWR OUTLET and 7.5A ACC fuses are OK, the relay might be bad.

It could also be a wiring problem.

Did you check the connection from the wiring harness to the sockets themselves?
When I first got my truck, the one was loose.

Just two little pins to take the lower center console piece off and reach in to see if they are plugged in tight.

I hate to bump an old thread, but I resolved this issue on my truck.

I had an auxiliary heater plugged into the outlet, which had a 15a fuse built in. After a few minutes of running the heater, it stopped working and the outlet was dead. I checked the fuses of both the heater and the power outlet but they were both ok. I checked the second auxiliary outlet, and that worked... which was odd seeing that they share the same circuit.

I removed the lower center console panel and pulled the socket. I found that there is a fusible link built into the back of the socket, which had blown. Being that the circuit is rated for 15a, and I was not bypassing any of the other circuit protection, I replaced this built-in fusible link with a piece of wire soldered into place.

The outlet works perfectly now.
