You may have to order it from a US catalog (US dealer). The part #'s might not be the same from one to the other...

Trust me, from the US perspective, those numbers are correct.

ordering parts on the web

It looks to be the same on toyota world. Maybe they have change the number since 2005.

007Tacoma and dsds you are both 100% right. I went to my dealer and I have took the computer myself and when I have looked at the pictures I saw the relay and the wire. Sometimes you have to pass over an obstinate salesman to get what you need….

On my invoice it is written flasher assy but the part is the wire. Believe it or not the price is 24.80$ for the relay and 99.50$ for the wire! Maybe the salesman revenge…

I will send you pictures off my pick-up when the legal inspection will be passed.

Best regards!

Did this mod last night. Thanks for the instructions. Worked perfectly and only took 45 minutes.

No, the install on the older Tacomas is very different. There are several ways to do it. Some of which are easier than others. I would check out http://www.customtacos.com for some information on how to add them to an older Tacoma...

007Tacoma, I just ordered the parts to do this mod today on my 08' D cab, I will let you know how it goes. And thanks for the great post on how to do this, I like how you researched the parts so this is a factory like upgrade! Thanks again, Wayne.

Just got my parts from toyotapart.com and about an hour and half later I now have DRL's and door sill protectors installed! Once again thanks for the detailed article on this, I would not been able to have done this mod on my own.

007Tacoma, just a quick question. Did you notice that your truck idled faster than normal after this mod? When I fired my truck up to check and see if everything was all good I noticed that it was idling about 2500 rpm and would not settle back down. I jumped in and when it went into drive it jumped forward, I drove it down the road a couple of miles and when I got back home it was fine. Kind of strange.

Yep. This is because you disconnected the battery. It reset the ECU. So, it acts like it is starting over from scratch. Good job being observant though!

Cheers!

I thought the truck was just happy at getting the extra attention.

Ok thanks, I thought I had messed something up. That would have been my luck to screw up a brand new truck!

Just ordered the parts for this from TRDParts4U. I didn't order the kit that is linked to in the recent edit though because it's around a buck cheaper to order the parts individually, and the shipping estimate is a buck less too if ordered individually.

Exclamation UPDATE: DISABLE DRLs!!!

UPDATE: to disable the DRLs you can put a switch in-line on the wire that is green with the red stripe!

I did it, and now I can turn my DRLs on and off at will!!!

Just installed the parts for this, and now I have DRLs. YAY!

The most intimidating part for me was the fear of breaking the clips that hold the interior panels in place. I've had bad experiences with other vehicles, but no problems this time. I only forgot to plug back in one thing (the mirror plug), and I got to it by removing the little cubby infront of the fuse panel.

Also, you may want to revise the original instructions because the "rubber grommet" behind the footrest doesn't need to be pulled to remove. You can turn it like a bolt/nut and it will unscrew right off. Pulling it off may end up damaging it so it won't go back on.
