Yep they will work as normal. Remember - this is an OEM modification, so it functions like it came from the factory with this option already installed.

Awesome!!!

Thanks for posting this!! Very easy 30 mins max..

Hello all.. just upgraded (well kinda) from a '99 TRD off-road Pre-runner to a steal-of-a-deal from a co-worker ('07 TRD-Sport Pre-runner D-Cab L-Bed)..Only bad thing is he dosen't have the locking diffs...

Q: When I took off my dash, the wire that was connected to my power mirrors had 2 other "unconnected" harnesses. Anyone know what these 2 "would" connect to or would be for?

Thanks again !!!

I know one of them is for the diff-lock, but since you have a TRD Sport - you have the LSD rear end anyway. Don't know what the other one is.

Welcome to TW!

The other one could be for any number of things that have switches in that area. Fog lights, traction control, downhill assist, clutch override, etc.

Have the fog lights already.. just wondering if it is anything that toyota installs at the factory and all I need is the button and plug it in to make it work. Maybe I'll take pictures and post.. thanks..

I had the same question when I put my DRL's in, I think the wires are just there because the harness is the same for all the trucks.

hey,

For a Sick sound for your 2.7L 4banger try a cherry bomb vortex (part # 88101). It gives your exhaust a sweet low rumble, and adds a nice popp and gurgle to your exhaust on down shifts.

...off topic, but I already traded my 2.7L AC for a 4.0L DC LB. Sounds like a cool exhaust though.

Yes. It is the exact same.

I did this to my 2008 Tacoma last week. The only difference is that I put a switch in to disable the DRLs on the go. This was my personal preference, of course. Otherwise, it was exactly the same.

Talking Daytime running lights

Hi, your post is very well done. Will that modification work on my 2005? I am assuming that it will but i want to make sure before I order the parts.

Thanks.

Yes it will. I did it on a guys 05 regular cab last weekend (for some reason he didn't trust the dealer).

I also just did this on my 08 double cab and I installed a bypass switch for when i want to be sneaky.

I just did the mod last weekend on my 08, and except for the relay and dummy cap on the fuse box, it went well.
Im not sure if its me or what, but i had one hell of a time removing the relay, and that grey cap. I tried every little screwdriver, and pick i had, to get the hooks to release, but finally ended up just prying them off.
Id like to see a pictoral, or at least a simple explanation ( for simple minded guys like me), of how youre supposed to release those relays.

They were a pain in the ass for me to get off to. If I remember, I ended up grabbing a pair of pliers and just grabbed and pulled until they popped off.
