I believe that they are talking about all the same part.

This is what I would need for an 08 DC?

Any one know of a cheaper place?

So you did such a great job with this but now you need to post up what you did for the separate switch on the 08. I'd like to do it that way on my 08.

Thanks for such a great job here.

Yeah, I plan on redo'ing my current setup (the switch) this weekend along with some other lighting/electrical modfications (Thanks to piercedtiger's thread), and install my URD True Cold Air Intake (if it arrives on time).

When I do all of that, I plan on taking tons of pictures and making sure that I document it all.

In the meantime, I will try to dig up the wiring diagram that I used to determine where to place the DRL switch...

    Cheers!

Unless the wiring is different (which is highly unlikely), I doubt it. The 09's have a few cosmetic changes, but no wiring differences (other than audio) that I am aware of. This install details exactly what the dealership does to add DRLs to an 05+ Tacoma. They wouldn't change it unless the entire model had changed.

Not to point any fingers or anything, but it sounds like he is just trying to get some more money out of you.

Some of the wireing COULD be different, but only for the items affected. The radio, Tail lights, etc.. Only the things they changed for the year. I doubt the DRL's have changed.

Agreed. Maybe one of our TW members that is a Toyota Tech can help us out... If we don't hear anything by the end of the day, I may setup a separate thread to ask, or PM members that might be able to help...

Got the DRL parts from TRDParts4U.Com two weeks ago for just over $58 with the shipping. Installed them on my '09 Tacoma last weekend with one or two minor issues, mostly due to a failure on my part to understand what I was looking at. Thanks to 007Tacoma for some very well written instructions. The photos were extremely helpful.

Also got a M-Series Roll-N-Lock cover and Cargo Manager installed locally. To me, having it dealer-installed was the best way to go. That $100 investment saved me tons of frustration.

Hope to get a better pic later.

I have an '09 Taco and want to add DRL also. Were your minor issues vehicle or parts related? I have been waiting to see if someone did this on an '09. I read in the DIY Cruise Control thread that the '09's lack the wiring harness which had been previously installed in the '05 - '08 model and wondered if anything else was different.

I have an '09, and I installed the OEM factory DRL a month ago. There were a few extra wire harnesses and plugs for the extra features that the '09 has that I had to unplug, but otherwise everything is the same for the installation instructions. The only problems I ran into was trying to unplug the old flasher relay. But it was the same problem I had with my '08, so everything is the same, I'm just not good at getting it done and I didn't have the proper tool to do it.

There were some minor differences with connectors that apparently don't appear on earlier models, but the parts fit together as designed and functioned as expected.

My biggest issue resulted from an inability to see. Working in the cramped quarters under the dash I had difficulties getting my cheaters positioned to get a good look at what I was doing so I had a little trouble comparing what I had versus the supplied installation photos..
