automatic transmission - 2011 Tacoma

not sure if anybody else is had this problem but here is mine.

when downshifting at approx 32 miles, a slightly clunk and between 30 and 25, a more pronounced clunk.

dealer dealer tells me that this is NORMAL.

anybody else having this problem?

Yup, doesn't seem at all normal to me. Mine doesn't do this. There was a quirk with some of the 2nd gens(not sure what all years were effected, I know my 09 had it) but that was a lag between shifts at 10ish mph and not a clunk of any kind.

I have 5k miles on my 2011 and the tranny is smooth as butter.


This is them not wanting to tear it to pieces as part of the toyotacare program. Go to an independent foreign car shop and have them diagnose it. The $70-100 you'll pay them for the hour will be worth it if you have to file a claim with toyota USA.
