3k miles and the engine has been running smooth (no used oil) but ready for a change to synthetic. Based on Chris4x4 report on filters I used the stock and then M1 EP (running choice) and told my engine you will be happier now as I started it up...:)

Note. breakin oil spews out like piss under 12 pack pressure -get the kitty litter out

Is it just me or is it to early to switch to synthetic? Just asking.

They say that you can use synthetic right off the lot. Well from what I have read.

There are some manufacturers that use synthetic out the door. What really matters is that the piston rings set, this happens within the first 100 miles, so 3k miles and syn should be no problem.

When I bought my 2011, they told me it had synthetic oil. went in for the 5k service they just did tire rotation and top off fluids. I ask them about the oil change and they told me it was good till 10k. the next day I changed the oil and it came out really dirty. just my 2cents

At 3k miles the oil did not look too dirty and could have gone longer, but I wanted to get the breakin oil out and the syn in there.
