Sufficient gear ratio for 285/18s & 3in lift?

So if the original gear ratio for the 08 sport is 3.73, then what would be a sufficient choice in ratio to compensate for the addition of 3in lift and 285/65/18 TRAIL grapplers (heavy combo!)?

Do you think 4.10s would do it? And what's the next ratio choice after that anyway?

I'm running stock gear with that tire size and I don't have any issues.

 

i personally am going to go w/ 4.10s. i am personally running 33" TGs w/ the 3.73 gears. just fine for my driving, but the 4.10s will get me back to stock and put me in a little better powerband.

 

Hmmm, maybe so but my TRAIL grapplers are FAWKIN HEAVY (10ply whores) and I pull my 800lb jetski in the hills of Vegas and elsewhere, so i'd like to keep some of that decent factory holeshot.
Plus, the trail grapplers run larger than what a tire calculator will tell you. They are damn near 12in wide and 32.5+ in tall.

 

What ratio are you running? Im thinking 4.56 would be overkill on the hwy.

 

4.10 is the very next choice over the factory 3.73, correct?

 

My Terra Grapplers are Load Range E and are heavy too, but if I was towing with a lot of hills I would go with a lower gear too. My driving is all interstate and fairly flat.

 

4.10s are hard to come by from what i heard, 4.56's are what im going to eventually run they arent to bad on the highway.

 

alot of the first gen tacos came with 4.10s, plus the tundras, sequoias, came w/ them too.
