The Amsoil EA Filter is the best. It's cleanable and lasts four years.

For a first gen the best bang for the buck is going the deckplate mod with an aftermarket air filter.

My Question is for Chris 4x4. I was wondering what is your opinon on the AFE Pro-Dry drop in air filter? Dos it filter as good or less then OEM?

im going to try the deckplate mod with an amsoil or afe dry. i want to hear from someone that has something like this done the change, if any in sound/performance. and what size deckplate are they using. i've heard 4'' is the biggest for first gen's and 6'' for sec. gen's
but i dont know

You dont get better filtration, and more flow, from the same size filter. There is a trade off. More flow = less filtering capability.
