turning off main headlights

is there any way to be able to turn off the main headlights in an 03 prerunner? all i want is the driving orange lights in the day. also, can someone explain the basics of HID headlights... which is brightest, negative/ positives??

There should be a code to turn off your daytime running lights, which will allow you to have just your parking lights. The larger the number the blue-er the lights then they turn purple. The 6000k are light blue and from my understanding the better view. Slimcubby should be having another group buy comming up in a month or so, he has good prices and is a good guy. He did the recent group buy. The lights are plug and play, they come with 2 ballast and a relay. It is simple. I have a picture in the thread "What have you done to your tacoma today" I just installed the 6000k set.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself. There is a series of turning the ignition on and off and opening the door to turn the lights off. I am at work and don't have the info but I will look.

You got me on that one. I never had fog lights on my 02. Isn't there a switch? Or maybe they turn on with the parking lights? Hopefully someone will chime in to help with this one.

Those lights on your bumper aren't foglights, they're actually turnsignals. The ones next to your headlights are just sidemarkers and do not blink, although you can mod them to act as turn signals.

And what do you mean by turning off main headlights? Do you mean your daytime running lamps?

all i want when im driving is the two small lights on either side to come on. this happens when the car is off and you turn the lever thing once,

You mean that doesn't work when you turn the lever only one turn? Both the driving lights and headlights turn on with only one click? If so, that is very strange!

Yes, there are 2 notches on the stalk when you turn on your headlights, the first notch/click should only turn on your sidemarkers and taillights without the headlights on. The second click/notch will turn on the headlights as well as the sidemarkers and taillights.

if i turn the stalk once, sidemarkers, tailights, and headlights come on. if i turn it again, the main headlights get a little bit brighter, from there, i can turn my brights on/ off...
