Cabin air filter causing weird noise?

Went to go clean my cabin air filter and what do u know? My taco never came with one. i mean WTF?!?!?!

Same Website listed above has the Blower motor assembly for the 4runner for $42...Aftermarket.... VERY Cheap... Cheaper than folks are paying to replace the Cabin filter at the Stearlership in vane!

By the Way, this is a common thing... The 2004 4runner is doing the exact same thing. I may replace the blower assembly myself and solve the problem easily...I hope!
So, if you are out of warranty, just replace the blower assembly yourself. Save a ton of headache maybe?

I was having the famous "chirping cricket" noise from my blower. Mostly on low and fairly steady. I took it to the dealer and they installed a new blower. I was told it has been improved. Very silent now.

Add- I had this problem for the past 10k or so. I was driving by the dealer and stopped in unannounced. They had a new blower installed and I was out of there in 20 min. Great service at my Toyota dealer!

I actually have to go to the dealer next week and get mine replace... im glad/sad this is some what a known problem..

Does anyone have the part number for the Tacoma blower motor and where to buy one? I've tried the fix described in this thread and the ticking is not constant anymore, but it comes and goes and the pitch is higher than it was before I messed with it.

After only one year and 10K miles - I was amazed at how dirty mine was. I got a new one and kept the old one (cleaned it and set it aside).

im gonna take a pic of mine atfer almost 80k. i dontthink it was ever changed

sometimes when you slide the filter out whatever is on top of it will fall into the blower motor.
