well, I got it working preliminarily (with all the wires under the hood). Now, I'm running the wires to install the switch.

Alright. I got it wired up and the switch in the cab, but I have NOWHERE to mount the switch unless I just drill into the dash randomly.

I had planned on mounting the switch in the only open space I have:

However, once I finally got to the point where I could get this blank out (I took apart 3/4 of the dash and center console!) I found that it really isn't suitable for mounting this switch. Or any switch for that matter...

Plus, I don't have a drill bit large enough to fit the switch anyway, so I'll have to figure something out tomorrow.

Also, these lights don't seem nearly as bright as I remember them. They are the Hella 500FF(http://www.autoanything.com/lights/69A1325A0A0.aspx), but I guess I shouldn't expect much out of lights that were only $65/pair at Walmart.

Off to bed.

do you have any blanks to the left of the steering wheel?? thats where i mounted my sitch.....right beside where the locker button was in the 06 i had.............and i have seen people modding the black plugs there with a small switch, sometimes being the switch that came with the lights. if your switch was like the one i had that came with my hellas...it was too big, so you can get a cheaper, smaller one that will work from autozone or advanced.

The way you have the lights wired, just make sure the switch can carry the full electrical load of the lights. That's one of the main advantages for using a relay. With a relay the switch is carrying almost no current so you can use a tiny, better looking switch. There is a reason the switch that comes with the lights is big...

What if it can't carry the load? Does the switch get too hot and melt or something?

How is the brightness on your 4 lights? Also, did you use the supplied switch or did you get a different one?

No, there were no open spots on the left of the steering wheel. All used up with stock applications:

I am very satisfied with the brightness of my lights. I have the middle two straight ahead and the side ones pointed out a little to see whats on the sides of the road. those along with my HIDs light up everything great!
I am using the switches that came with them. I mounted them in the little storage compartment on the left of the wheel under all the factory switch places.
I popped it out, cut out two holes in the back of it and mounted them. Ill take a pic here in about 30 mins when i got to lunch
