From what I understand the auto transmission fluid change interval is every 60,000 miles for trucks that tow. Is there also a specific time period that goes along with that (like engine oil every 5,000 or 6 months, which ever comes first.) Unless my driving habits change I won't reach 60,000 miles in my truck until around 2020, or 13 years from purchase. My towing involves pulling a 15' aluminum boat up a mountain road (80 miles round trip) every other weekend throughout the summer. Does anyone know how long (time wise) the fluid it good for?

Actually...that's what I had in mind, but do you have any idea time wise how long the fluid is good for? I won't reach 50,000 miles until 2018. By then the fluid would have been in there for 11 years. I would think the stuff breaks down not only mile wise but with age too.

If anyone else was curious I found the answer... 72 months (6 years) when towing.
