Power Pop & Lock wiring problem (PL8521)

I followed a few guides to wire this thing today, but for some reason, the lock/unlocks operates in the opposite position of the remote's lock/unlock. When I unlock with the remote, it locks the tailgate. And vice versa, when I lock with the remote, it unlocks the tailgate. I tried reversing the wires, and it doesn't do anything. Any idea whats causing this?

EDIT: nevermind, reversing the wires worked. It wasn't working before because the wire taps weren't making contacts with the wire splicer. I'm not sure why the lock I got was reversed from everyone else's, but I'm glad it works.
