Oil change, plugs, diff and tcase oil... That sounds about right for 30k. What do you mean completely different?

The dealers 30k mile service includes oil change, tire rotation, lubricating chasis, change engine and cabin air filter, topping off fluids, and a bunch of visual inspections. All of that costs $160. The dealer's idea of a 30k mile service is not even close to what the manual says.

That's what I'd expect for a 30k mile service but they absolutely raped you on the price. I'm sorry to hear about your condo rules, that would seriously piss me off. You own a place and you still have to follow rules like a renter... I guess it is what it is, nothing you can do about where you live and you can't get yourself thrown out of your condo for truck service. To do that all yourself you'd still be looking at about $200 in parts and oils give or take (assuming they replaced the air filter also) so you basically paid $250 for labor. Can you at least sit down now or does it still hurt?

That's about what I would expect to pay a dealer to do the above - if they used synthetics and iridiums (which I doubt) I'd even say you got a bit of a deal.:crapstorm:

I asked the dealer for a quote on the 30k mile service and it was upper $300's and included everything you mentioned. I had them change the oil and did the rest of it myself but my manual said to change the plugs, diff fluids and x-fer case also (actually, I think it says inspect diff fluid, i don't think it ever says change it but I did it anyways).

Didn't you sign a work order with an estimate before they did anything?

I just got a quote to complete what is required (and only what is required) per Toyota's specification 30,000 mile maintenance (normal operating conditions). $545+tax. I said no thanks.
