Maint. Req light turning on and off

so i got in my truck last night to go to werk and my light flashed a couple times and then went out. same thing this morning when i got off werk. flashed a couple times and went out. any ideas?

Sounds like you're almost due for an oil change.

The light will flash a few times and go off at mile 4750 (I think) until it hits 5000 miles, when it goes solid.

To reset the counter:
1. Make sure the odometer is set to ODO & press and hold the trip meter button.
2. While holding the button, turn the key to the ON position (continue holding)
3. You will see a series of dashes in the odometer lcd that will 'count down'. Continue holding the button until the countdown is complete (all gone) and release the button.

Time for an oil change!
The light flashes as a reminder...
After a certain amount of miles that you go over (i don't know how many), the light will stay on until the oil change is done...

sweet. thanks guys, pretty much what i thought too, about 400 miles til oil change needed.
