Hi guys, I have a 2005 toyota tacoma which I bought brand new. The truck has been great and very reliable except for one problem. The drivers power door lock acuator keeps breaking. I've already replaced it 3 times and now it's broken again. It cost over $500.00 each time to have the dealer replace this. Has anyone else had this problem? Any sugestions or ideas?

If you find a solution, let me know! I have replaced them on all four doors on my 06 at least once. Just cruise egay, I find them on there from time to time for $50 to $100 and just buy them to keep them around for when the next goes out.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll search ebay for the new actuators so they won't keep costing me so much. Are they very difficult to install?

Yes, I think the motor is going out. Every time I go to the dealer they just play dumb and say this never happens, then they tell me I need a new actuator. My friend has a four door Tacoma and all four of his door locks don't work and he's already replaced them all once. I have to open my passenger door and unlock the driver door every time I want to get in my truck. This is a little embarrassing when I take a girl on a date!
