I think my gas pedal got stuck today

Well about 30 mins ago i got in my truck to leave work. It poured very hard for about 30mins about 1.5hrs before i left work. Well i got it started and didnt pull off for about 45secs or so and i did hit the gas a little harder. The tires skretched and it tooooooook off. i got about 15ft and tried to swurve away from a fence and went up a curb on the right and torn up that grass then spun out 90* to the left and tore thru some baby bushes(right between some smaller trees) and i got it stopped about 5 ft from the side of a brick building(my work). it happened so fast idk know how it happened. I was in shock and afraid to get out and see if there was damage to the Taco. Thankfully there was none but grass and stuff all over the tires. WTF happened?

You misplaced your foot or your mat was holding the pedal down.

Bet you were accidentally pushing on both pedals at first. When you pushed harder the brake probably slipped out from under your foot giving you balls to the wall gas.

I've done it before by accident. It happens.

Please note: Toyota and the NTSA has done extensive testing on all models including ones that were involved with crashes. All data points to driver error.

I repeat. ALL data found has pointed away from Toyota Design flaws.

It happened to me. I was vacuuming my truck and I put the mat down but I didn't hook it. When I shifted into reverse I did a reverse burnout. It was in no way the truck's fault.

honestly, wearing certain type of boots/shoes (usually flight boots for work) i tend to hit both pedals at the same time. needless to say, i take the time to remove my right boot while driving. this truck must have been designed for the japanese because you HAVE to have really narrow feet lol

This happened to me a few times with a certain pair of shoes and my first gen, well kind of. I had a pair of AE leather shoes that the pedal would sometimes hit the tread and I could feel it lodge into the sole. I had to pick my foot up versus rocking back on the heel whenever I wore them and drove.

After a quick review of the 2nd gen owners manual via Toyota.com, it seems this is a perfectly normal function of the Off Road and Sport Models. If you look on page 22 of the pdf, it shows that the only way this is possible is under normal operating procedures with 4x4 engaged only.

It seems you accidentially pressed ZZ, which initiates the truck into "barrel roll" mode.
