    This is a very good point.

    The sand just adds an extra layer of concern for me as I have had bad luck with it in the past.

    On my '95 4Runner, I had a mixture of mud/dirt on the u-joints so I couldn't even see what was going on. That, combined with me not knowing better, was a recipe for disaster.

    I got a "humming" sound coming from either my rear diff or driveline and I cant figure out what it is...

    Happens between 40-73mph...on n off the gas n just recently added a slip yoke to the rear

    I don't think the noise in hearing is my transmission.....at least I hope :eek:

    I heard the noise n I changed out the carrier barring (still hear it)

    Flushed both tranny n diff fluids (still there)

    Idk what else to check...my u joints feel n look good should I change them out?

    So there was no sand on them but they are all greased but it is still making that noise :/

    Yea it is my diff we put it up on the lift and checked it out I don't thin it's blown I think it's just a bearing
