Removing the Rear Brake Drums

Hello Tacoma World, I am a new member and also I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4X4 with the 3RZFE 2.7 Liter engine. The back brake shoes need replacing, and I was needing to find out if anyone knows the size and thread type of bolt needed to remove the rear brake drums? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

 

If your having problems getting the drum off, hit it with a big hammer a few times.

 

bolt is always better than hammer, with hammer there is better chance of causing a warp or needless damage to the drum, def keep with the bolt idea, big hammer should be last resort!

 

also dont forget to loosen the pads by pulling the rubber grommet off the back of the drum and turning the star wheel tap lightly with a hammer something like a dead blow if possible and use bolts. pops right off
