    go put your truck in a situation where one of your rear wheels does not have traction...such as up in the air...then engage the locker and do it again

    I've used mine to get out of a mud rut once, getting up a boat ramp with the boat loaded more than once(one tire was slipping locked it and got up without any problems), and have used it a few times hauling trees out of the woods to cut up while cleaning up storm damage because I didn't want to risk tearing up the grass.

    are you sure you are engaging it properly? you have to completely stop, make sure the light is constant, and not flashing.

    This is the perfect example. Although in 4wd you may not really notice a difference in this situation but if you were in a situation like this in 2wd, or you also had a front wheel off the ground, the wheel that is in the air would get the power and the one with the traction wouldn't move at all.

    Locking the rear diff sends power to both wheels which will get you out of situations like this.

    It could. It will help anytime you are getting wheel spin. Anytime one wheel is spinning, the other isn't getting any power
