Taco/FJ Simularities

Earlier this morning, whilst enjoying my $1 feast of Breakfast at the local McDonalds I saw a Trail Teams FJ. I, naturally, wanted it. But I will not sell my Taco. I had a thought....

I know the FJ and Taco both share the 1GRFE engine, but what other parts do they have in common?

Which led to further thought, could I use FJ parts to complete a 4x4 conversion on my Taco? The main reason I find this desirable is that fact the FJ got a manual transfer case and not the electric switch thing. Personal preference. Could I convert the Taco to 4x4 using parts from the FJ?

The FJ Frame comes from the non US Toyota LandCruiser Prado.

I figure to keep production costs down Toyota will use the same parts as much as possible. You might be able to research toyota's recall list from tundra, tacoma, FJ, etc to see if they are in the same class when they notice problems.

AFAIK both the FJ and the Taco share the same suspension/frame.

No they don't. They do share the same suspension but not frame. The FJ is off the Toyota PRADO which is sold outside the United States. I know this for a fact.

sorry, 3200 were made. When they first came it, the gas were high. Trail Team were hard to sell. If you look hard enough some dealers might have them!
