firestik "fire ring" coax cable?

anyone use this?

i hear its not so great, cause the insulator isnt wound very well around the coax wire, but im loving the whole "low profile" thing

 

im using it with no issues. been on for about 9 months. i know of a couple other members on here using it with no issues as well

 

do you have the one you have to solder together? or the one with the FME connector?

 

uhh wasnt aware there were 2 different ones. only thing i had to solder was the coax to the plug that goes to the cb

 

thats what im kind of nervous about. does it all come in the package? the connector and stuff

 

Everything in package. The crimp on ring terminal makes running the coax easy as there is no obstructive connection. You crimp on the terminal at the end.

 

How did you ground yours?

Does it have to be grounded?

 

Can I ground to the stud?

 

I have the "no ground plane" cable so grounding is not an issue. mine is mounted to my aluminum toolbox, works fine.
