Lightbulb anyone touch up small windshield nicks with super glue?

so i have heard mixed reviews on this....i got a small surface nick on my windshield (surprised it took 15k miles for my first one). Actually, i got two. I took it to a glass shop and the owner told me its basicaly too small for repair and he wouldnt mess with it because he does not think it will be an issue now or ever. Well, prior to going there this morning, i read up on the topic last night and some people mentioned putting a small drop of super glue or crazy glue on the nicks to help prevent any possible spreading. Looking for some opinions on this subject...as always, thanks everyone, i appreciate the help!

for a few bucks at the flap (friendly local auto parts store), they sell a little kit with an vacuum attachment and some type of optical glue just for that job...

I used one on a small cross shaped crack. It wasn't messy but didn't really seem to soak into the crack enough. I could still see the crack and it did eventually spread anyway. I had to replace the windshield once it spread.
