I believe you are confusing down shifting with "Over drive". "Over Drive" is usually the top gear (or top 2, depending on tranny), that have a ratio of less than 1 to 1, I.e. .75, .83, etc.

You already have 4.10 with the I4 4X4 Stick.

Or you could swap to 4.56.

    No losing torque, just gaining.

With the 5spd and .81 OD and 33s at 75mph and 4.56 your RPMs might be ~2840 or with stock maybe ~2550. To visualize what kind of jump you might see at highway speeds. I think about an 11% increase.

As you change the gearing lower, or numerically higher, you essentially decrease speed and gain torque.

For every 4.56 revolutions of the input you'll see 1 revolution output, so basically think driveshaft and then wheels. With stock 4.10s your driveline is spinning 4.10 times for every one revolution of the axle shaft. So you lose speed essentially, so you'll have to have more engine RPMs to go the same speed, but you gain torque.

The bigger tires reduced your rpm by 7%.

Going from 4.1 to 4.56 increases your rpm by 11%.

You'll gain torque but you're going to increase RPMs to go the same speed. It's a fair chunk of change. Cheapest is to have ECGS do it IMO, then they send you new 3rds and you swap them in yourself.

Lots of guys here want 4.10s though so see if it'd be worth it to pay the core charges and then sell your 3rds on here.
