Did you try to drain the fluid to get it out?

Yes, the fluid has already been drained.

I even added more fluid thinking I could flush it out.

I'm certain the blue cap was on the bottle, forgot to take it off, put the bottle into the Fill hole then removed it. Blue cap is gone. I hope I'm not so tired that the blue cap wasn't on the bottle in the first place. I suspect it could/should slide down the inside of the case to the bottom, where I could see it.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
You've got two reasonable choices here.

First, take the t-case off the truck, split it open and remove the FOD. Time, money, effort, etc, but also the surest way to know. You might be able to see it from the top cover of the transfer case, but I wouldn't put money on that.

Second is to full your t-case to spec, and drive a few miles, chewing up the cap. Drain/fill/flush the case to get the bits of plastic out. This is not the preferred method. Thing is, those little bits could clog the oil pump in the transfer case and that's just a Bad Thing. :(

Sucks, I know. Firsthand, I know.

I would be doubley sure that the cap was in there by using an inspection camera, like a snake camera, plumbers use to look inside drains if you have access to one.

If not, get ready to tear down your t-case

before tear down walk away for twenty min or so then go back and search the whole area for the cap. it may not have been on in the first place .try visual confirmation for where the cap is first. my 2.

I did fish a plastic tube down inside the case and didn't notice any obstructions.

So I went with the idea that:
    1. The cap is not stuck inside the case
    2. If it is.... too late.

I refilled the case with oil, and started the truck. No odd sounds from the case. Since it is plastic, if it is in there, hopefully it won't hurt anything. Next weekend I will redrain the oil again, thinking by then it should either be chewed up or have fallen to the bottom.

For future reference though, here is what the inside of the case looks like as posted on the Rock Solid Toys forum:
