A/C compressor clutch bearing

I have a 2003 tacoma pre-runner that when the A/C is on makes a thumping noise. I have found the problem on the clutch of the compressor. All it needs is the clutch bearing. Does anyone know right off what the bearing number is for the clutch?

Yea thats where I ended up getting mine. However, it did not fix my problem. What is your compressor doing? Im thinking its going to have to be replaced on mine. It only has 112,000 miles on it though

Mine has about the same mileage. Its been doing it for about two years. Going to sell it so i thought i better fix it. It makes the sound of a power steering pump that has gone bad. Its a big job......expensive repair at the dealer.

If you guys are still on the forum can you give me an update? Bones was your making a knocking noise when the ac was on? If so is that all you replaced was the bearings to which you listed the part number? And Tacoma2525 did you ever get it fixed? If so what did you do? Mine is making a knocking noise sometimes when the ac is on. The pulley wobbles some too.

Worn Bearing on AC Clutch

I'm experiencing the same problem on my '02 Tacoma PreRunner. The bearing on the clutch plate is obviously wallowed out causing the pulley to wobble when under load. Replacing the bearing seems an obvious fix without replacing the entire clutch. What is the replacement bearing and who is a reasonable source, AutoZone?

I ordered mine from someone off eBay because I couldn't find the bearing in any store near my house. I don't remember the number on it but I can look when I get home. I haven't had a chance to put it in yet either.
